My grandfather, Absolum Burwell Smith (A.B. Smith) was the Race Secretary for Thoroughbred Racing in Moosomin Saskatchewan, my home town. So you see, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!
We have been breeding Standardbred race horses for over 20 years with many of our homebreds racing in BC, Alberta, Ontario, New York, California and so on. Illwinifican is one of our stand-outs, as below. Currently, he is retired and gone to live in The Yukon with our son Wade and his wife Vanessa. “Win” is in a steep learning curve…going from Harness Racing to Western saddle horse! But, no worries, Wade has inherited the ‘horse whispering’ of our heritage.
