In the last few years…
We’ve had the opportunity to take our business to the next level in doing ‘the right thing’. It just seemed well, right, in the moment. Looking back it’s a compilation of “Paying it Forward” which we would like to carry on and make our business standard.
Sienna’s Miracle Puppies!! Sienna missing for 4 days…pregnant and missing!!…the town of Souris Manitoba on full alert, the wonderful townspeople searching early morning to late evening with no success. Desperate to find her, local radio stations sending out the call, summoning aid from the Brandon Lost & Found Animals organization, people all over praying for her safe return, all stops pulled out!
A miracle happens!!
She’s FOUND… tied to a tree by her leash with 9 PUPPIES…all alive & well (happy faces, stars, emojies, anything to grab attention)

In collaboration with the Town of Souris, Manitoba, we bought a concrete bench to be placed close to where she was found.
By the Souris River and Dam.

A couple of years ago an elderly gentleman fell so in love with this sweet little puppy face…her precious personality, her joyous wee wiggle, her out-going nature, her yearning for attention and love, her gentleness. After leaving a substantial deposit … his situation did not allow for a puppy. We tried to return his deposit but …
No..no once again. What can we do?

We chose a wonderful family who’s little 9 yr old girl wanted a puppy of her own…to raise, train, take to 4H…and maybe even she’d become a veterinary one day!
She’s done just that and is still training and loving Ruby Sky and enjoying 4H and all it stands for. Well done Haven, we look forward to many more years of updates!

This spring I received the disturbing news from one of my puppies Momma…that she had just been diagnosed with cancer, the fast kind. She was beyond distressed and sooo worried about her 1 yr old “Chauncey”, the love of her life for the last year, spoiled rotten, bouncy and full of energy.
I assured her there was no problem whatsoever, I would absolutely without reservation take Chauncey back and find him a great new loving home.
As fate sometimes intervenes, he was the exact puppy that, a year earlier, my grand-daughter loved, but missed as ‘Anne’ got to him first!
Again…what to do?

Enter Prairie Wynd Collie Ambassador!! Chelsea was thrilled with her 2nd opportunity for this gorgeous tri-colored puppy…she would be my ambassador and Chauncey would be hers!!
I’m very sad to say that Anne indeed did not have very long and passed away. The last I heard before she died she told me she wished to give some money for Chauncey’s upkeep.
Imagine my surprise a month or so later, when a cheque came from her estate! A substantial cheque!

Chelsea had recently quit her job to go to University full time. No money for frills or extras in the foreseeable future of long-term schooling.
Imagine her surprise!! a substantial cheque for Chauncey’s upkeep.
The many training sessions in his future to ensure a well-socialized, well-mannered healthy dog. All that goes into training for a Therapy Dog…an ambassador…and /or any of the many Titles he is eligible for through CKC. Good luck Chelsea and Friend! (He’s been since renamed Friend of Prairiewynd)
